New Burberry and Topshop makeup lines are out.

Burberry and Topshop have launched their new cosmetics lines just a few days ago. This appears to be part of a trend as fashion houses seek to leverage their brand names to go into beauty. Two very different strategies and looks. Take your pick...

Burberry's Christopher Bailey, who was inspired by the Burberry trench coat, sought to create makeup that doesn't cake. The line is built on classic tones. Think neutrals: beige, taupe, grays, and just a tiny touch of red. Burberry's iconic packaging is very much in line with the image of the brand. It's meant to be kept around and even flaunted.

Topshop, on the other hand, opted for simple, almost drugstore-like packaging.
Simple lines, black and white polka dots, and quirky names that seem to be borrowed from Essie.
Their color palette is a touch more daring with shades such as Oopsy Daisy, Sea, and Sorbet
