The beauty of dance

About 10,000 spectators got to see an amazing free dance performance of Carl Orff's Carmina Burana at the Buenos Aires Obelisk on Monday. It was performed with incredible passion by the Ballet Contemporaneo del Teatro San Martin. I consider myself to be a tough critic when it comes to ballet or any type of dance (tango, flamenco, you name it...) but I must say that this performance was absolutely outstanding! The coreography, carried out with impeccable technique and even higher grace, left everyone speechless. The lighting and costumes were a perfect match for the Obelisk setting after a rainy afternoon. I so wish I could have been there, on stage I mean! Time to put on those dancing shoes and enjoy the beauty of dance...

In Love with the Spring Jumpsuit

I love the different interpretations of the jumpsuit for Spring 2011. It's so lovely, so elegant, so chic! It's an easy answer when you don't know what to wear, although I agree that it's not for everyone. But, you can adapt it easily to your style, depending on whether you want to look hot, flirty, or sophisticated, and whether your personality calls for flowery patterns, dots or means you keep it to basic black. I'll be posting pics of my Delaostia version soon!

Dreams, Stars & So Much to Do

I saw this work by Seb Lester and fell in love with it.
This type is made of a bunch of little stars. Quite remarkable!

Chair Design

Casa FOA ended with a collection of chairs that were created by several artists especially for the event. I thought they deserved a post of their own...  love their originality!
Each artist had a chance to let his own personal style shine through. I love the colorful versions but would also go for something more traditional like the one with the blue & white ribbon, colors of the Argentine flag. Would be perfect in my apartment!

isn't this a great way to organize all your belts?
Mixed messages in the media? I wonder if the chair's crumbling has anything
to do with our government crumbling as well...

Gorgeous colors and so in line with the ethnic trend!!
Classy mate anyone?

Design @ Casa FOA

After a lovely ride down the streets of historic San Telmo where you can find all the antiques you ever dreamed of, I spent a wonderful afternoon at the architecture and interior design expo of Buenos Aires, Casa FOA. I wanted to share some pictures of the rooms with you, all very different styles. Which one is your favorite?
