Frida's paintings continue to inspire us several decades after her death. Her oils revealed the naive, raw beauty of women. Her folk-like flat shapes, transmitted some of her most personal feelings. Although they were often disturbing, she was never hesitant to express them. She had a tragic, yet culturally rich life along the likes of Riviera, Breton, Picasso, and Duchamp among others. Her bright-colored self-portraits and still lives remind us that going back to our roots and embracing them can be a wonderful thing...
